Well as the title says, I was rejected twice. The second within 48 hours of the first. So that was fun. But I'm going to keep sending out the one story (In Silence) and the other was the first story of the Magician and the Knight, which means I'm going to continue with my original goal of writing a lot of the MaK stories so that I can one day compile a coherent book of all the stories. The second rejection was worse, because that was for the writing workshop I was so excited about in February/March. The good thing that comes from being rejected from the workshop means I can set aside more money for (eventually) going to San Francisco for NaNoWriMo's Night of Writing Dangerously! Besides, as I keep reminding myself, if I want to be a writer for a living I know will be rejected far more times than I will be accepted.
I'm still working on the Writing Challenge 2014, the April version is probably about half done. (I'm going to try and do better so that I don't have to do another March and cut it off mid-scene)
I've also been asked to write a full-spread article on studying abroad for my college's newspaper! It's due a week from tomorrow, so I really need to buckle down and work on that. BUT IT MEANS I'M GOING TO BE PUBLISHED FOR THE FIRST TIME!
On a personal note: Studying abroad in Italy has so far been one of the best things I've ever done! (Not to mention being in Italy for rejections means I get to eat incredible gelato/chocolate to make up for it.) It's really made me wonder what it would be like to actually move to Italy after college. But I still have to go to San Francisco before I decide I want to leave the country rather than just cross it to the other side.
Lastly, Happy Easter to anyone who celebrates! Or rather: Buona Pasqua!

Writerly Update
A brief update on where some of my writerly things stand:
1) Hindsight Draft 4 is not even close to done, so I will not be finishing that before November. Instead I'll just take a month-long break from it, let it chill, and delve into it come December. There's a lot of work to do for it, and I got really stuck on the beginning (like always). I'm still happier with this version than the last one though, so I know I'm headed in the right direction! I've also been thinking over a few things for later books that make a lot of sense and I can keep those things in mind during Hindsight. I think this version might just turn out well, if I have the
Hindsight Draft 4!
So, I'm mostly writing this because I just want to change up the journal...but anyway.
I'm working on Hindsight Draft 4! I'm rewriting from scratch and so far I think it's going to be a much better version as long as I stay focused on working on it. I've set a deadline for myself that I would prefer if I could finish all of draft 4 by the start of November (so I can do NaNoWriMo stress-free from Hindsight). I'm also planning on letting some people be beta readers of Draft 4 and giving them from November to January to do the reading of it. I think I can do it (finish Draft 4) but it will take some effort haha, there's a lot of book to rewrite
A Writing Workshop!!
In case you missed it, I am doing a writing challenge for the year. Each month I am going to rewrite a scene without looking at the previous versions as a test of my own improvement.
However.
I just found out about a writing workshop that I really want to apply for. It would be fantastic to go to this so I want to do a really good job on the story submission. The whole thing is due March 2nd though, which is not a lot of time to properly get a story ready. Because of that, the writing challenge for February may come late.
I really want this workshop. Only about 20 people get in though, and it's kind of expensive to go. But, I'll apply and

My College Pub was a good experience, and I'm glad I was a part of it. However, because I will be studying abroad, I didn't think I would be able to put in the right amount of effort for the website.
